DESIGN, INNOVATION AND DELIVERY AT CASTLEHILL WOOD
- House developments – Pre-build and commissioning
- Castlehill, Belfast – 37 houses
Castle Hill consists of 37 high end houses and 16 apartments located in the heart of Belfast. A wireless Eltako system suing the world standard Enocean wireless communication was used to control lighting throughout the homes with Tado smart thermostats used for heating and hot water control and a Texecom alarms system for security. Each system is interfaced and presented onto one user platform using the Nomos IoT smart server. The control solution consisted of:
• Enocean phase dimmed lighting controllers and wireless switches
• Enocean switched lighting controllers and wireless switches
• Heating and hot water control using wireless Tado smart thermostats and extension boxes
• Security alarm using a Texecom system
• Cloud based app and system interfacing via a Nomos smart IoT server
Phase 4 is the latest release by Lanyon Homes at their exclusive Castlehill Wood development in East Belfast.
A blend of spacious detached and semidetached homes, Castlehill Wood is set alongside the leafy perimeter of the historic Stormont Estate and the start of 2022 has seen homes moving fast at the development – at the time of writing only one plot remains in this latest release. Janine Thompson, Residential Development Manager at Lanyon Homes puts the ongoing success of the development down to three key elements; buyer-led design, innovative smart technology and having the right team on site to deliver an excellent finished product to homeowners.
“The team here at Lanyon Homes always put the occupier at the forefront during the pre-build design process” says Janine. “It is feedback from existing owners of Lanyon Homes properties, and potential buyer’s feedback, that guides our design decisions when working with architects, suppliers and our construction team. This is what has driven us to invest so heavily in smart technology within the homes at Castlehill Wood.”
Each home at the development features some of the most innovative Smart home devices available on the market today with range of sensors and controls to meet lifestyle needs of the modern homeowner while managing energy, safety and security from a centralised control system.
“As the internet of things and associated smart technologies have evolved Lanyon Homes has allocated significant time and resources towards delivering a robust, scalable and most importantly futureproofed range of technological options to our home buyers.
“We offer buyers at Castlehill Wood a range of high-speed internet provider options at purchase along with an innovative bespoke control system allowing occupants to integrate a wide range of devices, services and platforms into a flexible and user friendly interface that is not only well crafted but practical for us to deliver as a home builder.
“And delivery is the final piece of the puzzle for us at Lanyon Homes,” Janine goes on. “We have a top team at Castlehill Wood in MSM, our main contractor.” Paddy Shortt, Lanyon Home’s Site Foreman has just picked up his second NHBC Pride In The Job Award in a row, specifically for his work delivering the high standards expected by Janine and her team at the development.
Founded almost 50 years ago, Lanyon Homes focuses on developing innovative, high-quality homes tailored to exceed the demands of today’s increasingly demanding buyers. Presently the company is developing sites at Castlehill Wood in Stormont and Garden Square, just off the Hillsborough Road in Carryduff.
